Jupiter's transit into Cancer sign (Guru Karkataka Sankramana) - Effect on Individuals - An outlook...
देवानां च ऋषीणां च गुरुं काचंन सन्निभम्
बुद्धिभूतं त्रिलोकेशं तं नमामि बृहस्पतिम्

Jupiter’s transit in zodiac is the most sought after one as it bring out marked influence on individuals. Jupiter known as Guru Graha otherwise called Bruhaspathi is the most benevolent and benefic among the planets. Considered as Deva Guru (divine preceptor) in Hindu philosophy, Jupiter’s blessings (Guru Bala) are very much essential for an individual and His transit into certain positions in Gochaara is most awaited for performing of auspicious ceremonies like marriage; upanayana etc. Even while fixing of muhurtha for auspicious ceremonies it is ensured that Jupiter (Guru) is in proper placement either by presence or by aspect in the muhurtha chart.
Jupiter’s transit schedule in Karkataka Raasi (Cancer sign)
Jupiter’s transit generally takes place once in a year and it
takes 12 years for Jupiter to complete one revolution around the zodiac. This year
Jupiter’s transit is taking place on 19.06.2014 when he enters into Cancer sign
(Karkataka Raasi) in the zodiac in the constellation of Punarvasu-4. Jupiter’s current transit schedule is as follows…
Ø Entry into Karkataka Raasi (Cancer sign)
|
19.06.2014
|
Ø Entry into Pushyami Star
|
04.07.2014
|
Ø Entry into Aslesha Star
|
04.09.2014
|
Ø Leaves Karkataka Raasi (Cancer) &
enters Leo
|
14.07.2015
|
Ø Combustion of Jupiter
(Guru Moudyami/ Guru-Astha)
|
11.07.2014 to 05.08.2014
|
Ø Retrogression of Jupiter
|
09.12.2014 to
09.04.2015
|
During sojourn in Cancer sign Jupiter will be transiting
the constellations of Punarvasu, Pushyami and Aslesha before entering into Leo
(Simha Raasi) sign. During this period of Jupiter’s transit in Karkataka
Raasi, Saturn will be transiting into Scorpio (Vrischika raasi) sign; Rahu/Kethu
change their signs enter into Virgo (Kanya) and Pisces (Meena) respectively.
As per the astrological conventions Jupiter aspect falls on the 5th,
7th, and 9th houses from his position in the chart.
Accordingly during the transit in Cancer sign, Jupiter’s aspect will fall on Scorpio,
Capricorn and Pisces signs apart from Saturn and Kethu when they move into
Scorpio and Pisces respectively during the year. At the same time Jupiter will
be getting aspected by malefic Saturn and Kethu after their transit. Karkataka
raasi (Cancer sign) is the house of exaltation for Jupiter and its Lord Moon is
a natural friend of Jupiter. Though
Jupiter will be transiting in his most comfortable house and sign of exaltation
may also lose its significance partially during the period due to combustion
and retrogression.
For purpose of analyzing planetary
transits a birth chart is reckoned from Moon sign that is known as Janma Raasi,
the house where Moon is placed at the time of birth. Let us try to find out in
the coming paragraphs the astrological implications of Jupiter’s transit in Cancer
sign (Karkataka raasi) from an individual perspective…

Based on general
astrological conventions Jupiter yields favourable results while transiting the
2, 5, 7, 9, 11 houses and unfavourable results to rest of the houses ie. 1, 3,
4, 6, 8, 10, 12 reckoned from Moon sign. Accordingly Jupiter’s transit in Cancer sign is
expected to give good results for those whose Moon sign (Janma raasi) is Gemini
(Mithuna); Pisces (Meena); Capricorn (Makara); Scorpio (Vrischika) and Virgo
(Kanya). General results enumerated during Jupiter’s transit are…
When favourable!
Monetary gains; good luck; happiness; blessed with progeny;
marriage (ringing of wedding bells); dwija praapthi (upanayana sanskaara); good
health; success in endeavours; career progression etc.
When unfavourable!
Aberrations and obstacles; ill-health; loss of money; expenses;
frequent travel; grief and misery; depression; confusion; dissatisfaction;
separation; loss of wealth; unexpected troubles; mental worries and anxieties
etc.

position)…
At the time of Jupiter’s transit into
Cancer Sign (Karkataka Raasi) on 19.06.2014; Moon will be in Aquarius (Kumbha
raasi) sign. Based on sign Moon stands
at the time of Jupiter’s transit reckoned from one’s radical (natal) Moon sign
(Janma raasi), Moorthi Nirnaya for zodiac signs would be as follows…

Benefic planets like Jupiter produce
excellent results as Swarna Moorthi whereas adverse results as Loha Moorthi. Considered
from the rule book; 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11 are auspicious houses for transit of
Jupiter but, based on Moorthi Nirnaya method divergent results appear for some
of the signs.
Transit results enumerated above
are only indicative; they should not be applied as it is verbatim. They may get
modified based on the overall planetary position; strength in the natal chart,
placement (strength) of Jupiter in the birth chart both in Raasi and Navaamsa;
planetary aspects on Jupiter and the transit sign; running Dasa and Bhukti
(sub-period); transit position of other planets like Saturn, Rahu, Kethu etc.
One should not draw inferences purely based on transit results on its face
value as it may get restricted or altered by Vedha position of other planetary
transits and related Ashtakavarga positioning in natal chart. Therefore for a
comprehensive estimate of transit results a combined assessment of conventional
results with other techniques in vogue has to be made.
Natal positioning of planets
represent the intrinsic capability of an individual whereas, the transit
positioning shows the influences which are short lived. Though
transit results are considered as secondary to the prevailing natal results,
yet sometimes they could even modify and change the course of the natal results.
Gochaara or planetary transit is not only supplementary to the natal birth
chart but also acts as complimentary to it.
Jupiter’s transit Vs Pushkara…
Transit of Jupiter (Bruhaspathi) that generally occurs once in
twelve months has also acquired special significance as it is associated with
celebration of sacred river based Pushkara festival. It has become a custom and
tradition since time immemorial to celebrate Pushkara festival of a particular
river corresponding to the transit of Jupiter in a particular sign in the
zodiac. For example when Jupiter enters into Mesha Raasi which is the first
sign in the zodiac it is celebration of Ganga Pushkara. Incidentally
Jupiter’s transit into Cancer (Mithuna raasi) sign marks the beginning of holy
river Yamuna Pushkara. For more

Pushkara please click on the link given below.

Hare Srinivasa,
ReplyDeleteDear Sir,
Thank you so much for posting this wonderful informative article about Guru. Does the above said article matters to each individual or different from one another gochara and graha mitrathca?
Thanks in advance.

Krishna Dasa
Namaskara Sri Krishna Dasa...
DeleteThanks for the compliments.
All individuals come under 27 constellations (birth stars) which are grouped into 12 zodiac signs known as Moon signs (Janma Raasi). Transit results (Gochara) are generally based on the Moon signs. They are not based on the individual natal birth chart.
Best regards
Thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards
some persons saying jupiter in janmarasi aspecting 5,7,9 gives good results.as being exalted .also it destroys malefic effects of malefic planets like sani who is currently placed in tula 4th house (ardhastama sani). bot you are saying unfavourable how could we know the TRUE prediction. i also request you to give details about the impact of saturn ,jupiter transit effect if MAHADASHA is SHUKRA and ANTARDASHA is SANI.
ReplyDeleteJupiter aspecting Saturn can happen only after Saturn moves into Vrischika raasi that will be only after 03.11.2014. Please read the article completely, you will understand better. It is not just based on one feature alone.
