In the Epic Mahabharatha Yudhistira (Dharma Raja) and Arjuna pray to Goddess Durga and recite Durga Stothra on two different occasions.   Before entering into Viraatanagara for commencing their Agnaathavaasa, Dharmaraja prays Goddess Durga with a stothra which is popularly known as Dharmaraja Krutha Durgaastavam that appears in Viraataparva of the epic Mahabharatha.
