SANGAMESWARAM - DaAru Linga Kshethra ( DharmaRaAja pratishta ) Sangameswara Kshetra also known as Nivrutti Sangama is one of the important pilgrimage mentioned by Saint Sri VaAdiraAjaru in his magnum opus "Theertha Prabandha" (in Poorva Prabandha). It is a sacred confluence of Seven holy rivers meeting viz. Krishna, Veni, BhavanaAshini, Tunga, Bhadra, Bheemarathi, Malaprabha. It is located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesha about 22 km from Nandikotkuru. This holy kshethra has been visited by Pancha Pandavas (Mahabharata) during their Aranyavaasa where Dharma Raja made pratishta of Lord Shiva Linga which is known as Sangameswara. Rarity of this kshethra is apart from being a Sangama Kshethra, Shiva Linga is DaAru (wooden) Linga. As per legends when DharmaRaja wanted to install Shiva Linga, he sent Bheemasena to KaAshi to bring a Shiva Linga.
