On a side note...
It is not out of place to mention that jeernoddharana of this temple was done with the initiative of my Grandfather's brother Nirikhi Rama Rao who was Dharmaadhikaari of this temple between 1965-77 during the period Sri Sujayaeendra Theertharu (Mantralayam).
My father Dr. Nirikhi Satyanarayana Rao (late) was one of the chief patrons of this temple during that period. Today, Sri GuruRaayara Brundavana has come up at this place (during the period of Sri Sushameendra Theertharu) and it has become official Raghavendra Swamy Matha at Kurnool under the auspices of Mantralayam.
During that period our family used to participate in all utsavas at this temple which were held as per Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha sampradaya/calendar.
This is the place that has laid foundation for my religious and spiritual aptitude. I have sweet memories of those days winning competitions (elocution & essay writing) conducted by Akhila Bharata Madhwa Mandali during Madhva Navami celebrations.
It is said that during his sanchara halt at Kurnool, Sri #BhuvandendraTheertharu procured this icon of Sri Lakshmi #Narasimha while performing morning rituals in Tungabhadra river. This temple is just abutting the holy river Tungabhadra.
It may kindly be noted that Sri #Bhuvanendra Theertharu was Sri GuruRayara (Mantralaya Sri Raghavendra Swamy) poorvaasrama G.Grand son.
