In the eternal, insurmountable ever revolving
wheel of Time (Kalachakra) transit is a universal phenomenon applicable even to
the celestial bodies like stars and planets. Saturn popularly referred to in
Hindu astrology as Shani Mahatma is the slowest moving planet among the
Nava-Grahas. He is known as Mandha Graha (Sanaischara), the one who moves
slowly. It takes almost 2 ½ years for Saturn to move from one sign to the other
and 30 years to make one complete round of the zodiac. Previously, Saturn was
in Libra (Thula Raasi) sign almost for a period of three years (including
retrograde) and now finally leaving its most comfortable sign (Libra) and
entering into the Martian sign Scorpio (Vrischika raasi) on 02nd
November 2014.
Schedule…
Ø Entry on 02.11.2014: Scorpio sign - Constellation (Visakha)
Ø Exit on 26.01.2017: From Scorpio entry into Sagittarius sign
In
between Saturn will turn retrograde and becomes direct and also will be under
combustion. There would always be slight variation in the dates due to
different almanacs that are being followed. During its sojourn in Martian sign Scorpio
(Vrischika raasi) Saturn will be transiting across the constellations of Visakha
(4th), Anuradha and Jyeshta Nakshathras.
Implications of Saturn’s transit in Scorpio…(Reckoned from Moon sign)
Generally both natural benefic as
well as malefic planets produce favourable results while transiting through their
respective favourable signs. While transiting evil houses, natural benefic
planets produce almost neutral results whereas natural malefic planets give
adverse results. Transit implications especially that of slow moving planets
like Saturn have to be assessed carefully, based on the techniques of Vedha;
Moorthi-Nirnaya; Tharabala etc. For the purpose of analyzing planetary
transits (Gochara) a birth chart is reckoned from Moon sign that is known as
Janma Raasi, the house where Moon is placed at the time of birth.
Conventional method…
Based on
general astrological conventions, Saturn is supposed to give good/favourable results
when transiting the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses
from the Moon sign. All other houses, negative results are expected unless otherwise
supported by strength in the birth chart.
With
the entry of Saturn into Scorpio (Vrischika Raasi) it will be beginning (1st
leg) of Sade-Sathi for those born in Sagittarius sign (Dhanus Raasi) and end of
Sade-Sathi for those born under Virgo sign (Kanya Raasi).
For Libra
sign (Thula Raasi) it will be last leg (3rd leg) of Sade-Sathi while
for Scorpio sign (Vrischika raasi) it will be Janma Shani or 2nd leg
of Sade-Sathi.
Those
born under the Moon sign of Aries (Mesha raasi) will experience the effect of
Ashtama Shani and for those born in Leo (Simha raasi), Taurus (Vrushabha Raasi)
and Aquarius (Kumbha raasi) it will be Kantaka Shani. For Leo sign (Simha
raasi) it is also called as Ardha-Ashtama Shani.

Moorthi Nirnaya method…
At the
time of Saturn’s entry into Vrischika Raasi (Scorpio) on 02.11.2014; Moon will
be in Aquarius (Kumbha raasi) sign. Based on the sign Moon stands at the
time of Saturn’s transit reckoned from one’s radical (natal) Moon sign (Janma
raasi), Moorthi Nirnaya would be as follows…
Moon sign (Janma Raasi)

Conventional
quality of a planet can get modified according to the rules of Moorthi Nirnaya
method. In general malefic planets like Saturn produce adverse results as
Swarna Moorthi and Loha Moorthi, average to good results as Thamra Moorthi and
favourable results as Rajatha Moorthi.
Thara Phala...
(Birth star Vs Saturn’s transiting constellation)
Based on
stellar occupational method known as Thara-phala or strength of the star in
which the planet is transiting reckoned from birth star (Janma Nakshathra) the
results would get influenced as follows…
Ø Visakha (4th) from
02.11.2014 to 29.11.2014
Ø Anuradha from 29.11.2014 to
27.12.2015

During
Saturn’s sojourn in Scorpio, other major planetary transits would be that of
Jupiter moving into Leo sign in July 2015, Rahu-Kethu moving into Leo and
Aquarius respectively in January 2016. Saturn’s
transit or entry into Scorpio sign marks the beginning of a new phase in
Gochaara as his Scorpion influence will be felt precisely for a period of more
than2½ years. Though technically the transit will be for 2½ years, effectively
it will be for almost three years before Saturn finally moves into the next
sign viz. Sagittarius. This is due to Saturn assuming retrograde motion
in-between.
Scorpio (Vrischika Raasi) is a Martian
sign ruled by Mars who is inimical to Saturn. It lies between 213-240 degrees
in the zodiac. It is a fixed and watery sign. A sign of debilitation for Moon,
Scorpio is 8th house in the natural zodiac starting from Aries. In astrology 8th house primarily
rules the longevity and it is also known as house of calamities, obstacles,
conflicts, mysteries. Saturn’s entry in Scorpio leads to direct confrontation
with Mars. On individual (karmic) surface, there could be outburst of unexpected
happenings, setbacks, rivalry/strained relations, eruption of latent problems,
chronic illness, unsuccessful or stressful ventures, irrational thinking,
errors in judgment, lack of peace etc. Only consolation would be Jupiter’s
aspect on Saturn as well as Scorpio sign till July 2015 that may help in
diluting the negative implications to a certain extent.
Transit results enumerated above
based on Moon signs (Janma Raasi) are only indicative; they should not be
applied as it is verbatim. They may get modified based on the overall planetary
position; strength in the natal chart, placement (strength) of Saturn in birth
chart both in Raasi and Navaamsa; benefic planetary aspect on Saturn and the
transit sign; running Dasa and Bhukti (sub-period); transit position of other
planets like Jupiter, Rahu, Kethu etc.
One should not draw inferences purely based on
transit results on its face value as it may get restricted or altered by Vedha
position of other planetary transits and related Ashtakavarga positioning in
natal chart. Therefore for a comprehensive estimate of transit results a
combined assessment of conventional results with other techniques in vogue has
to be made based on individual birth charts.
Natal positioning of planets represent the intrinsic
capability of an individual whereas, the transit positioning shows the
influences which are short lived. Though transit results are
considered as secondary to the prevailing natal results, yet sometimes they
could even modify and change the course of the natal results. Gochaara or
planetary transit is not only supplementary to the natal birth chart but also
acts as complimentary to it.
The results produced during Saturn’s transit good or bad are long
lasting. Being a Karmic planet (Karmakaraka) Saturn’s influence on human beings
is highly prominent and has acquired unique significance especially during its
transit phases. Transit of planets in the solar system always evinces curiosity
both on individual as well as on mundane surface and if it is Saturn’s, it will
be more curious and enchanting.

Hare Sirnivasa,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this valuable information published. However, kindly let me know does there is any adverse affect of Saturn for Revathi nakshatra people as well, part from Dhanu raasi People.
Best Regards,
Ananda Sharma.

DeleteWith the transit of Saturn in Scorpio, those born in Moon sign Meena Raasi have come out of Ashtama Shani Gochara.
Revathi Nakshathra comes under Moon sign Meena Raasi as such Saturn in Vrischika Raasi will be in 9th house from Moon sign which is not a comfortable positioning for Saturn. According to Moorthi Nirnaya Saturn will be Loha Moorthi for Meena Raasi which will not be a favourable transit.
However, Jupiter's aspect on Meena Raasi and on Transit Saturn (till July 2015) will be a consolation.
Excellent article sir, I am looking for a personal consultation. Please let me know if you can help me with this. Thanks & Regards
ReplyDeletethanks for your appreciation. I don't entertain personal consultation, I am sorry....
DeleteNP sir, thank you for your response
DeleteThank you for this article. While reading it I've become interested in reading a chart that is tailored to my birth day; July 29th 1988. That was on a full moon, I'm not sure if that means something or not. I'm especially interested in seeing what the planetary influences were last year (2013) around winter (October 2013 - January 2014). If you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Also, and I'm not necessarily asking you to give me these readings, I'd like to see the chart for Aries born April 3, 1959. My mother was born on that day and recently discovered that she has a non-malignant brain tumor.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Michael
Thanks for reading the article....
DeleteFYI, that Moorthi Nirnaya method is a Crap. How does this transit is adverse for Virgo moons? They have just came out of their Dreaded Sade-Sati and Now again Adverse? I call this method a complete non-sense. And Also Who said Shani is Bad in 3rd house from moon? Where is it written like that? Shani is supposed to be good in 3rd, 6th and 11th houses ONLY!
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, (write your name)
DeleteIt's a good query. Anyone in your position would get the same doubt but, the tone and tenor with which you have asked is not appreciable. Just because you find it nonsense doesn't mean the concept of Moorthi Nirnaya is crap. It is one of the tools of predictive technology being adopted while assessing the transit results. It looks like you have not read the post (article) completely and moreover I have never mentioned that Saturn in 3rd house is bad. I have clearly mentioned that based on general astrological conventions, Saturn is supposed to give good/favourable results when transiting the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses from the Moon sign. Please check the post once again and read it carefully along with (especially) the last four paragraphs.
Dear Sir,
ReplyDeleteThe articles on Lord Shani which you have written in this blog are Marvelous. I have few queries on my personal front. Can I send you the same in your E-Mail ID bhagavanknl@gmail.com. Kindly reply back.
Thanks & regards,
